Tree Removal across the NC High Country

Full removal of declining, damaged, or dangerously placed trees — done by an insured local crew, not a storm chaser.

The work

Tree removal in the High Country is rarely a simple job. Steep terrain, narrow driveways, mature oaks and hickories that have stood since the 1940s, and rebuilt roofs from last fall's storms all complicate access. Our routed crews show up, walk the property with you, and tell you straight whether the tree needs to come down — and what fair pricing looks like for the specific conditions on your land. We focus on removal that respects the rest of the property. Crews use rigging and crane support on tight residential lots, not just drop-and-chip. Stumps can be ground the same day or left flush-cut for a follow-up visit. Brush is hauled off, the work area is raked, and the operator's invoice is the price you agreed to in the quote — no surprise upcharges after the fact. When the situation is urgent (a leaning tree, post-storm hazard, insurance claim with a deadline), say so on the form and we'll route you to a crew that can be on-site within hours, not days.

When this service is the right call

  • A leaning oak or hickory threatening a roof, driveway, or neighbor's property
  • Dead or dying trees that are obvious hazards after a wind event
  • Removing healthy trees to clear a view, expand a driveway, or open a building site
  • Storm-damaged trees that insurance has cleared for removal
  • Trees with extensive root damage from grading or construction nearby

Typical pricing

$500–$3,500 per tree, depending on height, species, lean, access, and what's beneath the canopy. Crane work and tight residential drops run higher.

Quotes are confirmed on-site before any work begins. We do not push jobs that don't need doing.

Common questions

How do you decide whether a tree actually needs to come down?
The on-site assessment is free. A vetted arborist or experienced crew lead walks the tree with you, checks for structural issues (cracks, fungal conks, root plate movement, included bark), and gives you a straight recommendation. We do not push removal when pruning or cabling would do the job.
Do you grind the stump too?
Yes — grinding is typically quoted as an add-on. Most homeowners want the stump ground 4–8 inches below grade so the area can be reseeded or replanted. We can also leave the stump flush if you want to handle it later.
What happens to the wood?
Default is the crew hauls it off. If you want firewood-length rounds left on-site, mention it on the form — we'll route to a crew that can leave them stacked at the driveway or wherever you want.
Are your crews insured for damage to the house?
Every operator on the platform carries general liability and worker's-comp insurance. If you want certificates of insurance for your records, ask the crew on-site and they'll send them — we vet for this before any operator takes a single lead.
